Crossroads of America Council: Leadership Transition
- There have been some organizational staffing changes in the CAC this month including the resignation of the CAC Scout Executive/President Joe Wiltrout. - About 15 positions were eliminated. - The decisions were driven to lower operating costs and to focus on scouting families and youth and help reduce costs. - The Volunteer run Board of Directors made the staffing decision and have put together a slide deck here, and recorded a zoom meeting here if you are interested. - Short version is: - - - Revenue is about $8 million/year and expenses were about $9.5 million/year for 2023 and 2024. Part of that was due to a $760,000 loss at the October 2023 Airshow. - - - CAC Employee compensation accounts for $6 million/year. - What is changing: elimination of the District Executive position. Current search for new Scouting Executive to lead CAC. - What isn't changing: - - - Units will still receive support, but now from Unit Serving Executives (who have additional roles) - - - Front office staff for registration will remain the same - - - Scout shop staffing remains the same - - - Camp Rangers at Belzer, Ransburg, Kikthawenund remain the same - So hopefully, minimal negative impact to our scout families and potentially lower costs. - Reach out if you'd like more info.

- Tonight PLC at 6:30pm and Troop Meeting at 7:30pm. This will be our final meeting prior to the camporee. Scouts will be planning the program and adults will be planning the menu.
- Registration for October Fall Camporee will close today at 5pm before the meeting. Note, we will all be staying in cabins and adults will be cooking so that the youth can focus on delivering an amazing program. https://www.troop133indy.com/node/10893 - Final note, the NOV backpacking trip date is 11/1/24 - 11/3/24. Location TBD (near Deam Lake or Deam Wilderness). RSVP will open up next week.
- Thanks to all for another successful weekend at our final store fronts. We have currently over $11,000 in sales, $1,383 away from our goal. We do have some remaining inventory of a few items that the Popcorn Kernel team will share with the group soon if scouts would like to help reach our final goal. Most likely: s'mores, salted carmel and popping corn left in inventory.
